My name is Mary, and I’m the caregiver to Bubbles, a resilient 3-year-old New Zealand REW rabbit bonded to my elderly bunny, Valentine, who just turned 13 on February 14th. Bubbles is Valentine’s second partner and an essential source of love and companionship in his golden years. Sadly, Bubbles has been battling a recurring jaw abscess that worsened after our move to Florida. Despite repeated treatments and my requests for better surgical aftercare—such as drains or antibiotic beads—our previous vet refused, and the infection returned. After finally switching vets, we’ve discovered that the abscess has now dissolved part of her lower jaw and spread to her lungs.

Bubbles is still active and eating with difficulty, but her condition is critical. She’s currently on three antibiotics and pain medication, yet she urgently needs surgery to clean out the infection and remove her incisors to ensure she can eat and live comfortably.
