Bhalu, the Bunny: A Plea for Eye Surgery to Remove Cataract
Hello, my name is Joyati Mondal, a proud yet worried pet parent residing in the vibrant city of Kolkata. I am a caretaker to 12 beautiful bunnies who bring endless joy and laughter into my life. Among these adorable creatures, one holds a special place in my heart – Bhalu.
Bhalu is not just a bunny, he is part of my family. He is 6.5 years old and has always been a lively and endearing presence in our home. Sadly, life has thrown us a curveball. Bhalu has recently been diagnosed with a cataract in his eyes.
Our trusted vet, with his experience and expertise, has promptly suggested surgical extraction of the lens to prevent any further complications. Delaying this could lead to the lens rupture, which could escalate to a host of other complications threatening his sight and overall health.
Unfortunately, our hometown of Kolkata does not have the necessary facilities for this specific type of surgery. Hence, I have to take Bhalu to either Pune or Mumbai, both cities renowned for their advanced veterinary services. We are expected to stay there for around a week to ensure Bhalu receives the best post-operative care.
This journey, coupled with the cost of the surgery, presents a significant financial burden that is currently beyond my means. That’s why I am reaching out for help, launching a fundraiser to cover the required expenses.
I humbly ask for your support in this challenging time. Any help you can provide will contribute significantly to Bhalu’s treatment, and give him a chance to live a healthy life. He is my child, my family. His life is incredibly precious to me, and I am committed to doing everything within my power to ensure he gets the care he needs. Thank you.
