Hi, my name is Tag, and I’m Riddeljack’s keeper — Jack for short. I took Jack in last year, and he came to me with an injury to his ear that has never fully healed. Before I adopted him, he was attacked by other rabbits at the rescue I got him from, and since then he’s been dealing with a persistent abscess in his ear that has only worsened over time. At this point, I’ve exhausted every option I can. We’ve tried medications, and we’ve already paid for a procedure to lance and clean the ear. So far, all we’ve been able to do is keep the problem somewhat at bay, but it now seems to be getting worse. Jack is still just a baby — only 8 months old — and he is an absolute doll. I work from home, and he’s by my side every day. We’re deeply bonded, and I love him more than I can say. His previous procedures were expensive, and heartbreakingly, they were not effective. My funds are low now, with very little to show for everything we’ve already tried — but I had to try, because I wanted so badly to save his little ear.Now we’re facing the reality that surgery is likely the only option left before this becomes even more serious and starts threatening his life.
