Please Lend a Helping Hand to Stache

Hello, my name is Tayler. I am reaching out to you on behalf of my beloved pet, an English spot rabbit named Stache. She is known for her distinctive and utterly adorable mustache-like marking (which is how she got her name, Stache).

On the 6th of September, I took Stache to the vet for what I believed was a simple skin issue. However, my regular vet immediately referred us to a specialist, suspecting that Stache was suffering from an abscess, but lacking the necessary equipment to diagnose and treat her condition. Without wasting any time, we drove to the specialist where Stache was kept under observation overnight.

The following day, our fears were confirmed. Stache was diagnosed with an abscess that had unfortunately spread to her bone, resulting in a weakened jaw bone. The doctor described her jaw as resembling mesh due to the severity of the infection. The situation is quite critical – they will need to extract multiple teeth and the frailty of her bone is complicating the matter. Depending on the results of her teeth extraction, Stache might need to be on Penicillin for the rest of her life and could possibly require monthly teeth shaving.

Despite this, Stache is an incredibly resilient little creature; at only three years old, she still has a long and fulfilling life ahead of her. The thought of her not being part of our lives is unbearable. I got Stache initially to provide companionship for her cage mate, Dash, and help with his anxiety. However, I never anticipated the profound impact she would have on me. Although she is initially shy, once she gets to know you, her true personality shines through – she is the most kind-hearted, adventurous, and affectionate rabbit.

The love I have for her is immeasurable. The thought of not doing everything in my power to help her in this situation breaks my heart. She has not only brought joy and love into my life, but she has also positively affected Dash’s life. I thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you can provide.
