Help Cottontail Bounce Back: A Bunny’s Fight Against Paralysis and GI Stasis

Hi, my name is Lawai, and I’m raising funds for my beloved bunny, Cottontail. Recently, Cottontail was rushed to the emergency vet because he lost the ability to move his back legs. He has no sensation in his hind limbs and remains paralyzed. The pain has been so severe that it caused him to stop eating, leading to GI stasis, a life-threatening condition in rabbits.

Right now, we’re still searching for the cause of Cottontail’s paralysis and are getting a second opinion from a specialist. In the meantime, he’s on Meloxicam to manage pain and inflammation, as well as gabapentin for additional relief. We may also start him on antibiotics in case a bone infection is at play.

Cottontail means the world to me. He was my very first bunny, and although I made many beginner mistakes, he was always so patient and forgiving. Everything I’ve learned about bunnies is because of him, and he’s the reason I now dedicate myself to bunny rescue work.
